Financing inquiries with solar loan companies are free of charge and do not affect your credit rating. The credit check is a “soft hit” and does not affect your over-all credit score after checking the amount you might qualify for.  We encourage our customers who are looking into financing to complete the soft check prior to making an appointment for a visit to your home or online consultations. If you would like to contact Dividend directly, the following link is to their main webpage:

Cash Deals

Some customers choose to look at a cash price for installing solar on their home. There are a number of reasons and advantages to purchasing a solar system with a cash payment. Naturally, the biggest advantage is saving money on the interest payments from a loan. Without a loan, there is no interest to pay. One question we are frequently asked is “how long will it take to get my money back from investing in a solar system by paying cash”.  There are a number of factors which enter into answering this question and every situation is different.  We recommend getting a full evaluation for a cash deal along with checking out a financing option. We can assist you with evaluating your financing options or cash options specific to your home, location, current power use, and specific costs for installing a system for your needs.

It is not uncommon to be able to save enough money by producing your own power to capture a cash expenditure back in between 9-12 years.  Once a solar system is installed there is a minimum charge from the power company to manage your account. In Utah, this charge is currently somewhere around $6-$12 per month. Beyond that minimal monthly charge, all money saved from paying for your current power bill will go towards re-capturing your cash outlay.

Obtaining A Solar Loan Through Your Personal Banker

More and more families are applying for a solar loan through their own bank.  When buying a new home, its possible to incorporate the cost of the solar system into your home loan. Many solar customers find this to be a good solution to concerns that the cost of the Solar System would not be included in the later re-sale of the home.  If the solar system cost is rolled into the house payment, its value is now incorporated into the cost of the home.  In other cases, families are refinancing their home to a lower interest rate and using that rate savings to finance the cost of the solar system.
